Singapore: Danial Bawthan is a young man of many talents. He is an a cappella beatbox performer, whose focus these days is on being a beat and hip hop music producer. Danial, who is also a wheelchair rugby player, is busy putting together his debut EP album of original music which he will compose and produce. He plans to launch his album by the end of 2017.
Danial started making music about 4 years ago and began to release compositions for public listening in 2015 when he felt confident enough after years of experimenting and learning the craft. He has done several commissioned works and keeps a busy recording schedule that sees him working into the wee hours.
At age 4, Danial was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a disorder that causes progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. He does not see being is a wheelchair as something negative. His passion for songwriting and rap allows him to express the way he feels about being disabled. Danial says that music has allowed him to feel just like anybody else.
He wants to set an example for the next generation and shift their their focus from disability, to ability. When asked to describe himself, he had only 2 words to say: “Fearless” and “Brazen”. For more on Danial, visit:
